New Year's Resolutions

I've been thinking quite a bit about the obligatory 2012 post that it feels like all bloggers have to make. I'm no exception, obviously. I love new years; I love the promise that they bring, and the feeling that - in the paraphrased words of Anne of Green Gables - life is again fresh and new, with no mistakes.

You know, until noon or so on the first day.

2011 was a good year for me. That doesn't mean that it was all good, or all easy - on the contrary, it wasn't. But it pushed me into a place of self-realization and stark honesty. A place where I had to be a better person, and continue to work on that every day. Where I had to learn to lean on my Father and my Savior, and use their examples and sacrifice to mold myself into a semblance of the person that I was created to be. Because I continue on that path, 2012 will also be good. Oh, sure, there are lots of uncertainties and trials ongoing and to come, but I'm working on perspective and my relationships with those I love and with my God.

Therefore, the path will be more sure.

My feet will be more strong.

My mind will be more calm.

And, please, let my sense of humor grow even more.

Those are my goals. Sure, I want to lose weight, be healthy, be more organized. But my resolutions? Faith, love, care, concern, humor.

Happiness.
